You know it is a slow week, when the release and subsequent purchase of this makes the highlight list. We saw it in December and loved it. Seriously. Who would have thought that one of the worst movies ever made could result in 86 minutes of Broadway fun? Shlomo and I might have gone over the edge a bit, but we also bought the poster signed by the cast. It benefited Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, so it wasn't all bad. We were just being charitable, not sycophants. Right?
Anyway, if you have the means, I highly recommend picking up a copy for yourself. The cast's take on those classic numbers like "Magic" and "Evil Woman" are not to be missed. It may be a place where nobody dared to go. But, it is the love we came to know. They call it XANADU!
